Let’s get cracking!
Question: I've gone on one date with this guy, and he's nice and there's nothing wrong with him. I had a good time. I'm just not sure if I'm feeling it yet. What should I do?
Not Feeling It
Dear Not Feeling It,
Let’s break this down:
1. He’s nice - Tick! That’s a pretty good start in this day and age. It’s great that you are getting this vibe from him!
2. There’s nothing wrong with him - I mean, you said it yourself, there’s nothing wrong with him!
3. You had a good time - Great! There’s nothing worse than a dud date, so having a good time meant you enjoyed his company, the chit chat was probably decent and you probably left feeling pleased!
What’s wrong with you!? GO OUT AGAIN! It’s that simple.
I have a rule in life which is to always try something 3 times. Admittedly I started this more around food and restaurants but it works for dating too. For this particular scenario it looks something like this:
Date 1: You aren't sure… which isn't a no or yes, so go for date 2.
Date 2: If you start ‘feeling it’ on this date, then date 3 is your decider!
If you aren't feeling it on date 2 you can cut your losses because you probably won't ‘feel it’ by date 3 either.
Don’t get caught up in the whole, love at first sight bullshit! More often than not, love grows on you and you don’t want to miss an opportunity because you didn't get a ‘feeling’ straight away.
Keep chatting with him too, as this will help build a connection (if one is really there) and who knows, he might turn out to be the one! Or not, and that’s OK too!
That’s the Hard Truth With EZ
